Nordea Asset Management has hired Jamie Hayes as its new director of UK wholesale distribution. He will work on growing NAM’s reputation and presence in the UK wholesale market, following the recent launch of the firm’s sustainable listed real assets and global climate engagement funds – both Article 9-compliant.

The appointment comes after Paul Malpas stepped down to lead NAM’s venture in the Canadian market.

Hayes’ industry background includes roles as a fixed income strategist and a fund analyst at RBC Wealth Management, where most recently he worked within its European distribution team.

Boston

Allspring Global Investments has appointed John Moninger as its head of US distribution. He will lead retail sales, institutional sales, platform development, client service and consultant relations teams.

Moninger’s background includes roles at LPL Financial and UBS Financial Services, most recently serving as the managing director of intermediary sales at Eaton Vance, part of Morgan Stanley Investment Management.

He is expected to start his role later this year from the firm’s Boston office.

Rotterdam

Alexander Preininger (pictured) has made a return to Robeco as its global head of sales and marketing, as well as a member of its executive committee, after two years as Amundi’s global head of institutional clients coverage.

Preininger’s previous roles included being the head of Emea institutional coverage at Robeco and head of solutions for Emea at DWS International in Frankfurt.

He began his career at Deutsche Bank in Munich.

San Mateo, US

Franklin Templeton has appointed Jamie Gordon as a consultant advisor, looking after key consulting firm relationships on the East Coast.

He will report to head of US institutional Mike Foley, who oversees Franklin Templeton’s US institutional direct sales, consultant relations and relationship management teams.

Gordon has more than two decades of experience in financial services, most recently as principal and senior client portfolio manager at Income Research + Management.

London

Tyndall Investment Management has hired Theresa Russell as its new head of distribution. The firm is trying to expand its partnerships franchise with financial advisors. Otherwise known as insourcing, the partnerships model allows IFA clients to set the mandate, ESG preferences and benchmark among other elements

Russell joins from CG Asset Management, where she was the head of sales and marketing for three years, working with wealth manager shareholders. Before that, she spent seven years as the head of sales and marketing at GVQ Investment Management.

London

Pacific Asset Management has hired Jonno Ross as an associate director for its UK wholesale distribution team. Ross is expected to oversee the distribution of PAM’s single-manager range of strategies.

He joins from Waverton Investment Management, where he worked with institutional and wholesale investors across the UK, Europe and offshore markets.

Ross brings over seven years of industry experience into the role and will be reporting to Nick Lemis, the head of UK wholesale distribution.

Zurich

Legal and General Investment Management has appointed Mauro Gerli, in a newly created role: head of institutional Switzerland. He will be responsible for strategy and business development and oversee LGIM’s pension funds, insurance companies and consultants. Gerli will work from a new office in Zurich, which is opening this October.

The appointment is part of LGIM’s expansion strategy to shore up its presence in the Swiss market and continental Europe, as well as internationally.

Before joining, Gerli, a veteran with over 20 years of experience in the asset management industry, has worked for Swiss Re, Man Group, Credit Suisse and Fisch Asset Management.

He will be reporting to Silvia Schaak, co-head of institutional for Germany, Switzerland and Austria, and will be supported by client manager Nadine Saïsset.

London

Credit Suisse Asset Management has appointed Jo McCaffrey as its head of distribution and head of Europe, the Middle East and Africa following the departure of Colin Fitzgerald.

McCaffrey, who only joined the banking group in March this year as its head of product for the asset management division, has previously run the global product team at PineBridge Investments. Her industry background includes managing the strategy, delivery, maintenance and client advocacy for active and passive funds in Europe and Asia at State Street Global Advisors.

Paris

DWS has made a double appointment, recruiting Eve-Marie Bussière and Nicolas Paillé de Rivière in its passive/ETF and active sales teams, to strengthen its commercial development in France.

Bussière, who joins after four years at State Street Global Advisors, will be responsible for growing DWS’s institutional coverage.

Paillé de Rivière, who before joining DWS held several positions at ODDO-Metropole Gestion, M&F Real Estate and BoAML, will be responsible for developing alternative products for French institutional clients.

London / Paris

Natixis Investment Managers has made three appointments in its international marketing team – including a Citywire alumnus.

James Moore joins as head of digital, data insight and marketing technology, Matthieu Ghesquière as head of marketing campaigns and planning, and Rosie Smith as business manager.

Moore, once head of product management at Citywire, will be responsible for digital strategy and insights, and the group’s client servicing model. He joins from Jupiter Asset Management.

Ghesquière will support sales and develop marketing and communications programs. Before joining, he was a senior marketing manager for western Europe at Axa Investment Managers. He has also held positions at Janus Henderson, Russell Investments and Pimco.

Smith will be responsible for strategic marketing plans. She has previously worked at Axa IM, where she covered institutional, wholesale and retail marketing.

Moore and Smith will be based in London, while Ghesquière will be based in Paris. All three will report to chief marketing officer Emily Askham.

London

Harding Loevner has hired Richard Clarke-Wilson as a manager in its institutional development team, where he will be responsible for building the asset manager’s commercial presence in the UK and Ireland.

Clarke-Wilson, who has over 20 years of industry experience, joins from Majedie Asset Management having spent the last six years as the director of business development. He will be based in the firm’s London office.

Global

Capital Group has appointed Leo Niers and Kyoko Shimada as heads of client education in Europe and Asia, and Japan respectively. 

The appointments are part of a programme called Capital Learning, a training service for institutional and intermediary clients. 

Niers joins from Franklin Templeton where he also implemented learning strategies and led a team of learning consultants across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Shimada joins from Abrdn, where she was the head of marketing for Japan and Korea. Before that, she was Fidelity’s head of marketing in Japan.

The training service, similar to what is being offered in the US, will help clients with investment concepts and trends.
