T Rowe Price hires head of intermediary for Asia ex-Japan

T Rowe Price has forged a newly-created role of head of intermediary for Asia ex-Japan, bringing in Glen Lee from Eastspring. Lee will lead the US asset manager’s intermediary distribution teams in Singapore, where he will be based, and Hong Kong. Lee reports to Elsie Chan, head of distribution for Asia ex-Japan. A 20-year-plus veteran of the industry, Lee spent nearly four years at Eastspring as head of intermediary sales. – James Phillipps
Rowan Capital appoints business development manager
Cape Town
Stellenbosch-based Rowan Capital has hired Martin Versfeld as its business development manager. Versfeld joins the Cape Town-based firm from Flow Traders in Hong Kong where he was an institutional sales trader. Versfeld’s father – also Martin – works for the company, and the son will report to his father. – Justin Brown
GAM Investments raids Jupiter for Nordics role

GAM Investments has a new head of Nordics, distribution. Magnus Jahnke will lead business development, client service and engagement. Jahnke was previously at Jupiter where he was head of Nordics for six years. He starts in September.
EdenTree strengthens UK distribution team with four senior hires

EdenTree Investment Management has recruited three new regional sales directors for its wholesale & financial institutions group distribution team. James Tomlinson and Tom Culhane join from BMO Global Asset Management, while Louise Slade joins from Investec. Matthew Parlour is also joining as a responsible and sustainable specialist from Invesco Perpetual.
Allianz Global Investors hires sales rep dedicated to institutional clients

Grégory Kerguelen is joining Allianz GI as an institutional sales representative. Kerguelen joins the French asset manager from NN Investment Partners where he was the senior business development manager for almost three years. Kerguelen will report to institutional sales director Véronique Boyer, and his portfolio will include insurance, mutual insurance, pension funds and credit unions.
Fidelity targets Swiss pensions with hire from UBS

Fidelity International has appointed Silvio Sulser, an ex-UBS senior relationship manager, as head of institutional clients in Switzerland. Sulser is tasked with increasing the asset manager’s business with pension funds, insurance companies and serving existing clients in Switzerland. He previously worked for Barclays, Lehman Brothers and State Street Bank.
Mirabaud AM further strengthens its UK wholesale capability

Elliot Fowles has moved to Mirabaud Asset Management’s UK wholesale team as it looks to strengthen its presence and commitment to the UK market. Fowles joins the firm from Aviva Investors, where he spent the last decade as a senior business development director. Before this, he held various sales positions at HSBC Global Asset Management and DWS Investments.
Liontrust hires Columbia Threadneedle sales director for European adventure

Liontrust has hired Claude Ewen as its international sales director. The move comes as the asset manager looks to expand distribution in Europe with a focus on Germany and Austria. James Beddall, head of international sales at Liontrust, said: ‘Claude’s appointment is the latest step in expanding our European business as we seek to replicate the success we have achieved in the UK market.’ Ewen joins Liontrust from Columbia Threadneedle, where he spent the last seven years spearheading the distribution of responsible investment strategies in Europe.
BlackRock boosts Miami offshore sales team with Citi hire

GAM has recruited an industry veteran as director of its US international clients fund sales team catering to institutional and wholesale clients across the Americas.
Alejandro Moreno joined the New York office last month. He is tasked with growing GAM’s business with international clients from Latin America and Asia, reporting directly to Juan Ramón Caridad, a managing director and GAM’s head of sales for Iberia and Latin America. Moreno joins from JAM Global Consulting, a company he helped co-found last year. He has more than 24 years’ industry experience and previously served as global head of distribution for Northstar Financial Services in Bermuda. – Daniel Gil
